Fr. Dariusz Frydrych, Familiy ties and the problem of the social maladjustment of minors, "Zeszyty Formacji Katechetów" 2020, r. 20, nr 1(77), p. 73-86.

In recent decades our social reality has undergone significant political, economic and socio-cultural transformations. These changes have led to the emergence of both positive and negative social phenomena. Among the negative are: increasing violence, aggression, addiction, social maladjustment, callousness, a hedonistic and consumer lifestyle. However, the linking of the phenomenon of the social maladjustment of minors in Poland mostly with political changes and the distinguishing in the first place such causes of dysfunction as: difficult socio-economic conditions, or low parenting competence of parents, is an incomplete diagnosis. The foundation of the problem of juvenile social maladjustment should be seen rather in the disturbed emotional bonds in the family. In the era of atomization of social life a growing problem is the building of weak or negative family ties or their complete absence. Family ties have often only an instrumental character.
